The King Now a Princess? Kylie Jenner Closes Coperni Show, Concluding Paris Fashion Week

Kylie Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian clan, closed out Paris Fashion Week in style, commanding the runway for Coperni.
As she sauntered through Disneyland Paris in a witchy ball gown, the symbolism behind her look questioned the fairy-tale references. Known to our generation as "King Kylie"—our blue-haired icon—Jenner has always stood out among her famous family. However, this time, she showed her sisters who the true king is by closing the show. The 27-year-old makeup mogul walked down the runway on October 1, donning a black strapless, drop-waist gown, complete with embellished opera gloves and open-toe heels. For someone who adores the runway, especially when the show is meticulously crafted, Kylie Jenner’s presence was more than just a walk—it was a statement.
A princess trapped in her castle? An evil or good witch? Sibling rivalries like Cinderella or Snow White? We can certainly argue that Kylie and her family are a type of royalty in Hollywood. By casting herself as the "princess" in this chic, sultry obsidian ball gown, Kylie echoed the timeless fairy tales we've come to know through Disney. The gown evokes images of escaping the castle—the runway being her stage. A Cinderella of her own, running away from her castle.
The Coperni show was special, as the collection drew direct inspiration from Disney. The design team commented:
*"We grew up with Disney as an important part of our childhood. For many French children, especially those from the provinces, the first family trip to Paris often meant visiting Disneyland. Disney's fairy tales and characters—like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Ariel, Snow White, Cinderella, and Maleficent—were our guides through the complex emotions of friendship, love, fear, courage, and transformation."*
Coperni’s latest collection was their largest to date, featuring ruffled edges, bursts of florals, and bloomers inspired by the 20th-century origins of Walt Disney. One highlight was the use of organza butterflies. In fact, 10% of the collection was designed in collaboration with Disney, and one of my personal favorites was a piece referencing Maleficent, complete with a hood.
Copini brand does not shy away from making a statement. Their history; spray-on dress showcased by Bella Hadid, robotic dogs strutting down the runway, and sonic experiments at IRCAM. Founders Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer have made a name for their independent label as one of the highlights of Paris Fashion Week through innovative technology and unconventional venues. Now with this new collection, they are sure to have eyes on them from all over the world of fashion.
Kylie Jenner has recently become increasingly involved in the luxury fashion world. She attended several shows this season, including Schiaparelli, where she wore a stunning two-colored ensemble, and arrived in a black midi dress with a cinched waist and dramatic plunging neckline. In an interview with *ELLE*, Jenner mentioned her love of "doing themes," especially for Paris Fashion Week, which helps her embrace the season. She also made headlines as the literal face of Balmain's new collection unveiled during Paris Fashion Week. On her Instagram Story, Jenner shared a custom-made piece with the caption: *“Me by @olivier_rousteing @balmain.”*
