“If Everybody Had An Ocean, Then Everybody’d Be Wearing Pacific Edge Jewelry!”

Pacific Edge Jewelry: @pacificedgejewelry

“If everybody had an ocean across the U.S.A, then everybody’d be surfin’”, wise words from the iconic Beach Boys. Now take those lyrics and transport yourself to sunny California! You’re here? Perfect. Let me introduce you to the Natural Bridges State Beach, where the seals tan and locals swim with no worries. On the sand, walking, you’ll find Indi Whittick scavenging for the perfect shells and sea glass. Who is she, you might ask? Well, you just met the owner of Pacific Edge Jewelry.

Indi Whittick is a beach girl, born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. Her parents raised her through all things outdoors. Honing in the importance of beauty and nature to her. Camping was normal in her life. Beach days were never questioned. Through her love for the ocean (and plentiful of time on the beach), as a hobby, she started shell hunting. She collected all types of beautiful sea glass and shells. That got her thinking. What if she combined fashion with the beach? Two things that she loved dearly. Like her cousin Krista Hammond, a well known jewelry maker in the Santa Cruz area, Indi also wanted to influence the jewelry world with her creations and bright ideas. So, Indi set off on her own personal adventure. Let’s make the beachiest jewelry for lovers of the sun, like you and me!

She spent a little more extra time at the beach picking out only the best shells and sea glass for her buyers. More time in her element: basking in the sun, running through the sand, and splashing with the waves in the ocean. Fun fact time (that’ll give you more knowledge on all things ocean and beach)! In Indi’s words, “Sea glass is going extinct. When it is tumbling in the ocean, it turns to sand. A turquoise sea glass is more rare than white or a green sea glass.” Now that you know that, we can appreciate nature, shells, and Pacific Edge Jewelry even more. Indi incorporates sustainability heavily into her brand. Every piece of jewelry that is created is found from the beaches of California. Nothing was produced or created in a factory setting.

So, when someone is wearing her jewelry, they are literally wearing a piece of the ocean. Jewelry gives Indi confidence; she hopes to translate her feelings for her jewelry into her buyers and jewelry lovers. Not only would they feel one with the ocean, but they would also feel cute and powerful. Jewelry is pushed aside, in terms of fashion, but it should be seen as an enhancement. It completes an outfit and adds a little bit of spunk into someone’s personality.

Pacific Edge Jewelry is the definition of “if everybody had an ocean” by the Beach Boys. If everybody appreciated nature and our beaches, then they would see the beauty in promoting brands that are an extension of nature.
