What is your style in 3 words?

Unique, Timeless, Chic

How do you view fashion in your eyes?

Fashion is one of our most powerful platforms to display character and personality. Since our beginning, we have found numerous ways to drape cloth on our bodies to represent a specific time and society. Understanding the history behind some of our favorite designs is an important marker of human evolution. It is essential not only for understanding history but also for oneself.

Taking the time, whether that takes a day or even years, to learn your style is incredibly important in character and confidence building.

Many trends have come and gone over the years, and as each year passes, I begin to sway away from engaging in each one. I am heavily inspired by the woman I was named after, Carolyn Bassette Kennedy, who focused on timeless pieces and a simple color palette. I have always loved buying secondhand and hand-crafted pieces for their quality and uniqueness.

With our cold weather how do you show your style to class?

I love all things leather and lined to help keep me warm, but also some lighter t-shirts layered underneath my jacket when walking inside from the freezing cold to blasting heat. It can feel hard to dress for a New Orleans winter, but having one staple jacket that can be paired with any outfit can make your day much easier. Another staple that is worth the investment is fleece-lined tights.

How do you accessorize during winter

Boots always add a cute flair to an outfit, including scarves, belts, and jewelry!

How do you find your creativity is best expressed

Fashion has always been my main outlet of self-expression, as well as makeup and photography. I have always had a passion for art because it reminds us that you don’t always need the use of words to describe a human emotion.

Do you feel influenced by New Orleans

For sure! I have been exploring more of the city and love finding hidden stores and spots for inspiration. New Orleans has an energy that feels authentic and open, making it easier for me to try new things and meet the loveliest people who are always encouraging you to show up as yourself.

Another great factor of living here is a more consistent weather pattern than it was in Cleveland, OH. I love spending time outside and having warmer temperatures has allowed me to try styles like crocheted pieces that I can wear time and time again.

Since mardi gras is coming up what are your ideas for mardi gras style

With this being my last Mardi Gras at Tulane,

I want to have fun and go all out for this one.

This year, there will be feathers, sparkles, and much more. I have found unique pieces from small businesses that I am so excited to share, along with items I already have in my closet that I will merge with my ideas i’ve spent the past 3 months dreaming up. I cannot wait for this Mardi Gras and the amazing memories that always come with the holiday.

Her recent look, Apple Orchard, showcases her versatility, effortlessly blending bold fashion with artistic expression.
